As many of you know, our documentary film is on the festival circuit right now. Women Laughing is about my experience alongside other women breaking into and thriving as cartoonists at the New Yorker. Over the 40 years since I began cartooning there, the landscape has undoubtedly changed, but the need for a cartoonist’s sharp eye and wit has only gotten more critical.
Over the next week we have our first NYC theatrical run at the wonderful Firehouse theatre in lower Manhattan and I hope you’ll join us. In the documentary, you can watch ten of us crazy cartoonists draw and laugh together, and share how we do what we do. Special guests for panels after some of the screenings include:
