Glendale Community College has opened its $7.5 million STEAMworks Innovation Center in Arizona to provide students with hands-on experience. The center features an augmented reality and a virtual reality room, a makerspace with 3D printers and drone technology and is designed to prepare students for careers in engineering, advanced manufacturing and construction management.

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Committee on AI Use in Teaching, Learning and Research Training recommended that universities redesign courses, assessment and social experiences within the framework of generative AI. The report found student and faculty opinions on AI vary but it's widely used, and the effects include more isolation, an erosion of social connections between instructors and students and questions about long-held teaching and learning norms.

Public universities are renaming diversity, equity and inclusion offices to avoid scrutiny amid a Republican-led crackdown. Institutions such as George Washington University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have rebranded their diversity, equity and inclusion offices using terms such as "community" and "well-being." Despite more than 150 bills targeting diversity, equity and inclusion since 2023, The Economist has found that staffing costs have only slightly decreased, with most employees retaining their positions under different titles.

Pennsylvania State University students demonstrated 41 AI projects at the Nittany AI Alliance's second Artificial Intelligence Showcase, attracting representatives from 17 companies. Projects included AI applications in health care, education and business operations, with standout presentations such as Adim Ogbolu's neural circuits for robotics and Andy Salvo's Raptor, which aims to create bespoke software for businesses.
