- The deadline to register or update your registration — and to apply to have a ballot mailed to you — is Friday, Oct. 23.

- Personal property taxes are due Oct. 5.
- Save gas and time by paying online, which is quick, easy and free when you use an e-check.

Stuff the Bus is Back Saturday
- Stuff the Bus returns Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at various district governmental centers.
- Support local nonprofit food pantries by donating nonperishables or gift cards.
- The most recent drive in March collected 11,428 pounds of food and more than $1,700 in gift cards.

FEMA has observed National Preparedness Month since 2004 to encourage Americans to prepare for emergencies. The month is a great time to take small steps to make a big difference in being prepared including at your House of Worship.
Low- to No-Cost CISA-Recommended Activities to Protect Houses of Worship
Form a Security Team CISA

Assemble a cross-functional team to lead security planning, coordinate with law enforcement, and engage with local emergency agencies.
- Assign roles: risk identification, resource coordination, threat awareness, and communication.
Understand and Map Your Space U.S. Department of Justice

Map entry/exit points and identify high-risk areas (e.g., parking, entrances, service areas).
- Remove landscaping or planters that obscure sightlines or block access.
Implement Low-Cost Physical Security Measures U.S. Department of Justice

Lock doors from the inside and limit entry points; lock during events.

Install window locks or alarms; use pull-chain shades for quick closure if needed.

Designate shelter-in-place rooms with thick walls, solid doors, and first aid kits; train staff and congregants on their use.
