SR&R

  • Review and Sign the SR&R by September 30

The FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) booklet explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment. This year’s SR&R includes new Universal Grade Matrices, which are at-a-glance charts that make it easier for families to see behavior expectations and school responses for grades K-3, 4-8, and 9-12.

Families, please review the SR&R and discuss these expectations with your child. Be sure to sign the SR&R acknowledgement form by Wednesday, September 30, either by logging into SIS ParentVUE or signing and returning the Signature Sheet to your child’s school.

Cellphones and Personal Devices

Students may only use a personal device if it is required as part of a necessary accommodation in the students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) or Section 504 Plan. A principal or the principal’s designee may approve a limited, course-specific exception for students enrolled in a specialized class when the curriculum requires a technology tool or software that isn’t available on a standard FCPS-issued device. El folleto de Derechos y Responsabilidades de los Estudiantes de FCPS (SR&R) explica las expectativas de comportamiento de los y las estudiantes y cómo deben responder los adultos para fortalecer la seguridad escolar y crear un entorno justo, equitativo y de apoyo. Este año, el SR&R incluye nuevas Matrices Universales por Grado, tablas de consulta rápida que facilitan a las familias conocer las expectativas de comportamiento y las respuestas de la escuela para los grados K-3, 4-8 y 9-12.

Familias: por favor, revisen el SR&R y conversen con sus estudiantes sobre las expectativas. Recuerden firmar el formulario de confirmación a más tardar el miércoles, 30 de septiembre. Pueden hacerlo iniciando sesión en SIS ParentVUE o firmando y entregando el documento firmado en la escuela de su estudiante.

Teléfonos celulares y dispositivos personales Los estudiantes solo pueden usar un dispositivo personal si lo necesitan como parte de una adaptación incluida en su Programa Educativo Individualizado (IEP) o Plan de la Sección 504. Planning to Volunteer This Year?

All volunteers for Clermont events and activities, including field trips, must be registered in Volunteer FCPS. This new system’s primary purpose is to keep students safe. These updates, such as checks against the sex offender registry, are safety measures that will help us maintain a secure and supportive learning environment for every student in our care.

Please visit Clermont's Volunteer site to begin the registration process. If you already have a Volunteer FCPS account from last school year, please login and make sure your account is still active. For new volunteers, please sign up for Volunteer Level 2. As a reminder, all visitors and volunteers to any FCPS school are required to sign in by scanning their ID at our visitor kiosk. 

Attendance

  • Not Feeling Well? When Your Child Can Come to School

School is better when your child is here! But we do understand that some days, they may feel unwell. Learn more about which symptoms are ok at school (like sneezing or sniffles), and when your child should stay home (if they have a fever, diarrhea, or vomiting, for example). 

If your child has a chronic illness, make sure to notify the school so that assistance can be provided if needed. Keep an open line of communication with your school public health nurse. Call the school as soon as you know your child will be absent and, if possible, let them know how long you think they will be out.

Immunization Events

  • Immunization Events for FCPS Students

FCPS, in partnership with Inspire Health Alliance, will be providing school-required immunizations and optional flu shots for all FCPS students, ages 18 and under, with no out-of-pocket costs. Multiple events will take place at designated FCPS locations. 

Additional dates will be made available throughout the school year. Parents or guardians may view upcoming events and schedule an appointment for their student. Participation is voluntary. Additional immunization resources are also available. 

Advanced Academic Programs

Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) is committed to challenging all students through talent development and differentiated instruction. A continuum of Advanced Academic Program (AAP) services is available to students in Grades K-12 and is designed to match services to each student’s unique academic needs.

Identification for Subject-Specific and Part-Time AAP services occurs throughout the school year. Full-Time AAP services have two identification cycles:

  • Fall identification: Students in grades 3-7 who have enrolled in FCPS since January may be referred by October 15, 2026.
  • Spring identification: Any FCPS student in Grades 2-7 may be referred by December 15, 2026.

FCPS uses ability testing as one consideration in the holistic identification process for AAP services.

  • All students in Grade 2 take the Naglieri General Ability Tests (NGAT).
  • Students in Grades 3-6 who do not have a multi-domain ability test score take the NGAT.
  • Students in Grades 3-6 may retake an ability test one time. Families may request the ability test retake by contacting Trevia Younger, School Testing Coordinator, at tryounger@fcps.edu by September 30.

Families are invited to attend Clermont’s AAP information meeting, led by Raechel Acosta, our Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART). The meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 6-7pm. Please RSVP for this meeting. The meeting link will only be sent to those who have RSVP’d.

  • AAP Continuum of Services & Full-Time AAP Identification: Families will learn about the continuum of advanced academic services available to FCPS students. Families will also learn about the referral and identification processes for Full-Time AAP services.

Programas Académicos Avanzados

Las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Fairfax (FCPS) están comprometidas a desafiar a todos los estudiantes a través del desarrollo del talento y la instrucción diferenciada. Una continuidad de servicios del Programa Académico Avanzado (AAP, por sus siglas en inglés) está disponible para los estudiantes de los grados K-12 y está diseñada para adaptar los servicios a las necesidades académicas únicas de cada estudiante.

La identificación para los servicios de AAP por materias específicas y a tiempo parcial se lleva a cabo durante todo el año escolar. Los servicios de AAP a tiempo completo tienen dos ciclos de identificación:

  • Identificación de otoño: Los estudiantes de los grados 3 a 7 que se hayan inscrito en FCPS desde enero pueden ser referidos antes del 15 de octubre de 2026.

Join us for a series of Community Conversations that will be held across the school division. Share your thoughts with Dr. Reid and ask her questions. Click on the date to register for any of the following events:

Estas reuniones están abiertas a todos, incluyendo familias, estudiantes, y miembros de la comunidad. Puede asistir al evento que le resulte más conveniente, aunque no se lleve a cabo en su escuela o comunidad. Esta es una oportunidad para compartir sus opiniones, conversar directamente con la Dra. Reid y hacerle preguntas sobre temas importantes para nuestra comunidad de FCPS. 

No es necesario inscribirse, pero hacerlo nos ayuda con la planificación.
