Thank you to all our families who joined us for Back-to-School Night! We enjoyed welcoming you into our classrooms and sharing more about the school year ahead.

Dear Wildcat Families,

What an incredible energy we had in the building this week! Thank you to everyone who joined us for Back to School Night. Walking the hallways and seeing our parents, guardians, and families was a wonderful reminder of how important community truly is.  If you didn’t get a chance to join us, please see the link to the slides presented, and please do contact your child’s teacher to sign up for conferences offered near the end of the quarter.  Partnering with you is at the heart of everything we do. Seeing you connect with our teachers, explore your students' learning spaces, and ask thoughtful questions sets a positive tone for the entire school year.

Week 4 Highlights & Looking Ahead

• Strong Classroom Routines: With four weeks under our belt, our students are fully settled into their daily schedules, academic expectations, and school-wide routines.
• Keep the Momentum Going: If you didn't get a chance to connect with a specific teacher during Back to School Night, please don't hesitate to reach out via email or through Talking Points.  Please sign up for a parent conference offered near the end of the quarter as well. 
• Stay Connected: We hope to see you for our Hispanic Heritage Festival next Friday at 5:30 pm, and please save the date for our Title 1 Annual Meeting / PTA Meeting coming on October 28^th.

Yom Kippur

Monday September 21, is a holiday and schools and offices will be closed. See the complete school year calendar. May all in our Jewish community observing Yom Kippur have an easy and meaningful fast. Yom Kippur is the holiest day of the Jewish year. This day is also known as the Day of Atonement and many Jews spend the day in prayer and fasting.

Review and Sign the SR&R by September 30

The FCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities (SR&R) booklet explains expectations for student behavior and adult responses to enhance school safety and to create a fair, equitable, and supportive school environment. This year’s SR&R includes new Universal Grade Matrices, which are at-a-glance charts that make it easier for families to see behavior expectations and school responses for grades K-3, 4-8, and 9-12.

Families, please review the SR&R and discuss these expectations with your child. Be sure to sign the SR&R acknowledgement form by Wednesday, September 30, either by logging into SIS ParentVUE or signing and returning the Signature Sheet to your child’s school.

Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Early Release Wednesdays. Students will be dismissed at 1:05 p.m. on the following dates:

• April 7
